In December, I was hired on by Lynx Music, a recording studio in downtown Toronto (777 St. Clarens Ave) and did a mural to jazz up their awesomely old school freight elevator. They already had one large mural of the logo (a lynx, strangely enough) so the theme of my work was the lynx’s home environment: a boreal forest. I settled on some funky geometric tree-forms to simulate the experience of looking up from an abstract forest floor, with special focus on the radiation of light through the boughs. Bit of a Keith Haring vibe going on, I thought.
I was happy to have had my work included alongside lots of other awesome Toronto artists, such as Mike Parsons, whose characteristic black and white cityscape dominated in the room across the hall.
Here are some progress pix! Lynx’s website is currently under construction, so I’ll post this info as soon as it’s available – especially for my musician pals who might want to take advantage of this great space.
