The Ongoing HUELY Legacy of Awesomeness

As if designing a SOCK weren’t enough of a freakin’ cool artistic experience, yesterday my collaboration with Huely Socks resulted in another fantastic opportunity – this time, to create a mural over at BizMedia Studios that would be filmed in process for a promo video.  The video itself, a compilation of artists from Huely’s Series 02: Street Art, will be out shortly (I had a chance to check it out yesterday.  TOTALLY kick-arse.) but in the meanwhile, here are a few photos from my own camera of the mural in its various stages.  I call it Soxamaphone, since the jazz guy in the middle of this trippy band is playing my sock.

Actually, the video will be partially time-lapse, and looks a little in parts like one BizMedia already created of Mike Parsons painting in their studio, just behind where my own mural ended up (video here).

There’s still a whole bunch more stuff lined up to coincide with the launch of the excellent Series 02: Street Art, including such Toronto luminaries as Lazerhorse, Anser, SPUD1, and Mike Parsons, to name but a few.  Stay tuned by ‘LIKING’ Huely Socks’ page on Facebook which has loads more details!  The socks themselves will be available as of November 1st, and you can bet that I will be making this info available to my readership so that all of you can get yourselves some original Paul Byrons for your feet!

A big shout out goes to Nate Kogan, artist extraweirdonaire, and Justin and John at BizMedia for their filmic talents.  Although I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him in person yet I am also grateful to Dan Demsky, co-founder of Huely – you can read about Nate and Dan’s adventures in business in their recent article by the Financial Post!
